The Asteroid Belt is a region of the Solar System which is occupied by thousands and millions of asteroids, all in orbit around the Sun. The asteroid belt can be found between the planets Mars and Jupiter. Some of the asteroids can collide with eachother and that might put one asteroids on a collision course with Earth. These are known as near-earth asteroids.
